Hooray for new jobs! Even though they take away time from teh interwebs. Well, new jobs and the freaking Olympics. *____* Lahv lahv lahv.

OH, and Generation Kill rewatches. Goddamn, there's a part that tears my heart out, and it's not one of the obvious parts! Like, maybe I'm too focused on Brad/Nate, 'cause after Encino Man gives his 'our enemy is...the enemy' dumbass speech, and Brad leans over to Nate and is all 'I'm in awe.' and Nate just ignores him...I DIE A LITTLE INSIDE, OKAY. When Nate walks away, and Brad has that look on his face like 'Oh...okay. Rejected.' I want to punch something. UGH. BRAD COLBERT, ILU.

In real life news, I can't believe how many people smoke. My new job is in a drug store, and we sell cigarettes, and ho' shit, ya'll. I swear, 8 out of 10 people that come through my line want cigarettes. I keep wanting to be all '...NO. THEY'LL KILL YOUUUUU.' but, heh, that wouldn't be very good customer service. I'm real twitchy about it though, 'cause my brother smokes, and I swear to god, if he gets lung cancer....I'll punch him in the face. Ugh.

How fucking sad was Joannie Rochett skating last night? My sister and I were bawling after she finished her skate. I can't imagine getting out of bed if my mom had just died, let alone competing in the Olympics. I hope she gets the bronze. She deserves it.

I'm gonna buy the shit out of the Generation Kill book, and Nate Fick's book. Like, Borders won't know what hit it.

Oh yeah, who bought '21 Guns' by Green Day on iTunes because of a certain green-eyed actor? This chick. Goddammit, Stark Bunker Sands. Goddamn you and your hilarious name.

I downloaded season 2 of True Blood, and I've only watched the first 3 episodes, and holy shit, Askars. Like, who knew he could be so hot with tin foil in his hair? Guh.

Speaking of Askars, I had a dream about him last night! We were on some sort of Survivor-ish show, and he was all dashing and rescuing people from drowning in dangerous waves. Actually, it might have been Askars!Brad Colbert because he didn't have that hilariously charming frog voice that Askars does. Either way! When he was off to save someone, I gave him my hair scrunchy(so, obviously my dream took place in the 90's) so he could pull his hair back. It was a ~moment~ I tells ya. But Brad Colbert didn't have long hair, so maybe it was Eric!Askars. IDK. He was there and he was freaking tall.

Oh man, I keep seeing actors from True Blood on different shows, and I have to quell my flailing. My family would be ~scandalized~ that I was watching such a vulgar show(LOLZ). I saw Sam Merlotte on an episode of Law And Order: Criminal Intent and was all '....!!!!'

I'm so excited for Curling, you have no idea. *____* I didn't know what it was before the last Winter Olympics, then saw it and was instantly in love. WHY? IDK. Maybe because I'd seen HELP! by the Beatles and always wondered what they were playing in the Alps. Actually, yes, that's why. It's surprisingly enthralling.

\O/ USA! \O/

In other news...Look at my new icon! ♥ NATE FICK. Like I needed a new series to be into, but oh wells~ You can never have too many hot guy icons. Especially hot MARINE guy icons.

My dad worked with a guy, and is still friends with, an army reserve helicopter pilot. He just recently came home from being over in Afghanistan flying medivac Black Hawks. For Christmas, he sent our family a folded American flag, and a signed picture of the black hawk that he flew. We were all super touched, 'cause we know his family and were always thinking and hoping that he was okay. Especially because medical choppers get shot down a lot. As I was looking at the picture, I saw that it had the Screaming Eagle emblem of the 101st Airborne on it. I had a huge, spazzy giggle fit, you guys. I was all 'OMG! SCREAMING EAGLES! DICK WINTER! :DDDD' and my peeps were highly amused. Heh. It helps that I got the Band of Brothers book, Dick Winter's memoirs and the book about Guarnere and Babe for Christmas, so I'm feeling all patriotic and stuff.

Then, I get this e-mail earlier today from my dad, who in turn got it from his friend the black hawk pilot. I'm gonna put it behind a cut, 'cause it's kind of long.

Regarding Shifty Powers.Collapse )

I blame the books for making me EXTRA sentimental. D: I already was with the series, but after finishing the book, it's even more so. Especially after reading about Floyd Talbert after the war. Oh man, I was bawling like a baby.

Okay! I'm gonna go find something not-sad to do.

I never realized how difficult it is to find a Dick Winters icon. Not because there aren't very many, but because I keep getting distracted by freaking Speirs and Doc Roe. Winters is my favorite, but goddamn, those boys sure know how to look pretty in icons. Which makes me wonder, is Winters really my favorite, if I'm so easily distracted by Speirs and Doc Roe? Yes he is. But still.

Ugh. Picking a favorite BoB boy is like picking your favorite child. I always think, well, I love Winter best, but next is Doc Roe...but wait, Speirs is freaking awesome too...and Nix is charming as hell...then Lipton has to show up and be awesome, and Luz is totes my favorite Sgt, but Guarnere is badass AND SO ON.

And to think this train of though all started 'cause I was looking for Criminal Minds icons. Thanks, Band of Brothers, for distracting me from everything ever.

Speaking of Criminal Minds...ZOMG. I'm in love with this show. I frequently refer to Hotch as 'my boo' to my family, much to their chagrin, and Reid as 'baby boy'. Give me a procedural show about FBI agents, and I'm there. Give me a procedural show about FBI agents that are also profilers...and I'm in love. Mmmmm, psychologically interesting. It also helps that I've always been fascinated by serial killers and psychopaths. I guess that's why I love cop shows, 'cause they always deal with those types.

ANYwho, anybody else watch Criminal Minds? :D

Blerg! Why must San Antonio be so freaking huge? I want to go to San Antonio College, but it's all the way downtown, and I'm all the way up on the northside of town.

Guys, why are cars so expensive? D: I'm to the point where I'm all 'Mom, drop me off at the bus station. I'll get there somehow! *determined*' and my mom is worried about the bus system and how dangerous it is and...yeah, that's kind of scary, but still! I was so lucky at my last college, 'cause my mom worked right by it, so I could just carpool with her.

Idk idk. I miss school so much. It's the only thing I've ever felt successful at in my entire life. I have pretty severe social anxiety, but for some reason, going to college was NEVER a problem. Like, I fully expected an uphill battle against my anxiety...but there was no battle. I love the academic setting, the library, the notebooks, the lectures, the tests, the EVERYTHING! I mean, I haven't been able to keep a steady job because of my anxiety, and since we moved I haven't been able to go to school or work, so I just really need to go back and start living again.

Omg, are buses scary? I remember taking the Boulder, Colorado city buses when I was growing up, but that was a long time ago and...well, San Antonio is lacking in the super awesome hippy department that Boulder has out it's ears.

Okay. I'm done rambling and venting. O_O If you guys have any advice for proper bus etiquette or anything, please, don't be shy! :D

Ugh. The only thing I hate about winter is the colds. My froat hurts. ):

Oh well. This gives me a chance to catch up on all the WW2 shows I have on my DVR. THANKS, BAND OF BROTHERS. Now I don't have room for anything else. I mean, I was already one to watch a billion History Channel shows, now I have a billion more to watch. I shouldn't complain though. I'm a history nerd, so this is nothing new.

Guys, I don't know what to do with the Jonas Brothers anymore. And by Jonas Brothers, I mean Nick and Joe. Matching sweatsuits? What are they? Retired in Florida? Oh, it is to laugh.

OH YEAH! So, I'm recording 'WW2 IN HD' on the History Channel, and Ron Livingston does one of the voice overs. *flail* I may or may not have shouted 'NIX!' at the tv and flapped my hands like a dolphin.

I'm kind of ruined for all other tv now. I was watching Criminal Minds, and Bull Randelman was a guest star. Then I was watching Criminal Minds AGAIN and freaking GUARNERE was a guest star. THEN, I was watching Supernatural and saw the Trickster and was all 'SKIIIIIPPPPPP' even though I started watching Supernatural waaay before BoB.

Okay, I'm kind of drugged up on cold meds, so I'm gonna shut up now.

Who has two thumbs and has been mainlining Band of Brothers like it's going out of style?

This girl.

Oh my god, ya'll. So many hot men, so much slash potential, SO MANY HOT MEN. My sister and I have decided that Dick Winters has ruined all other men. He's just so freaking redheaded! Damian Lewis got me watching Life, too. Which, hey, thanks! It's been canceled, but sure. I love getting into shows that stop.

I'm running on no sleep, so I'm rambling. I just love them all so much! Doc Roe! Liebgott! Freaking Luz! NIX! WINTERRSSSS.

Okay, I'm done now.

Yesterday, I finished Easy Academy...and I'm dead. I'd had it bookmarked for so long, and kept putting of reading it because I didn't know anything about Band of Brothers. Way to be stupid, SELF. It's freaking amazing and now I want to read it a thousand times over.

I also really, really need to see Band of Brothers. I looked to see if there were any showtimes coming up, and there aren't. D: Does anybody know if it's on YouTube or anything? I'd buy the shit out of it if I had money.
